The Medicine Mountain Scout Ranch is a patrol style camp. Units will need to bring their own tents, sleeping bags/cots, cooking gear, etc. Medicine Mountain provides each unit with picnic tables and a fire ring. Units are also responsible for cooking their own meals, however, Medicine Mountain does provide the food. What is the weather like during the summer? During the months of June and July, Medicine Mountain typically see highs around 80 degrees with humidity around 10%. Lows at night can drop down into the 50s making it chilly. The camp does experience severe weather from time to time. Severe storms usually bring hail and high winds. How is the summer program? The summer program at Medicine Mountain is highly flexible with a wide variety of options. Scouts can participate in first-year camper programs, traditional merit badge programs, several high adventure programs, and in evening program. The camp utilizes a block schedule that allows scouts to mix and match high adventure opportunities with merit badges to get the best of both worlds. What is the minimum age to participate in high adventure activities? In consultation with the Guide to Safe Scouting and manufacturer recommendations, our enterprise risk committee has set the minimum age at 14 to participate in any of our high adventure programs.
